On 18 October, the Cambridge Stem Cell Institute (CSCI) announced that Sarah Teichmann has been elected as Professor in Stem Cell Medicine and the she will be moving with her group from the Wellcome Sanger Institute where she has been heading the Cellular Genetics programme.
“I am incredibly excited to be moving to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus with my group joining CSCI and the Department of Medicine, which will open up new opportunities to use our Human Cell Atlas discoveries as a reference for patient disease samples as well as a reference for cell and tissue engineering.”
Sarah Teichmann
Sarah is one of our most distinguished and prolific faculty members, co-leading the Human Cell Atlas initiative, a topic she lectured about extensively at the past Summer School.
I am particularly excited by Sarah’s vision whereby future Human Cell Atlas research should embrace the elucidation of tissue and organ function, which is perfectly aligned with the mission of our Wellcome-funded Tissue Scale Biology Discovery Research Platform.
CSCI Director Bertie Göttgens
The Centre whole-heartedly congratulates Professor Teichmann to her move and wishes her the very best for the next exciting chapter for her group. We are looking forward to learning about her work and to showcasing her accomplishments through CCAIM’s channels.
